Assessing the viability of a grid-connected PV power plant in Mubi, Adamawa State, Nigeria

This paper is based on a techno-economic analysis and the environmental impact of proposed 1 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at main campus Federal Polytechnic Mubi (FPM) in north-eastern Nigeria. A converts radiation into electricity that can be used as source electrical to meet daily energy requirements homes, equipment, all tertiary institutions. RETScreen Expert software was evaluate sustainability installing grid-connected PV plant. The research results revealed with an annual 5.74 kWh/m 2 /day, maximum production estimated 1,550.98 MWh. It discovered March 146.89 project’s profitability economic were determined good internal rate return (IRR) 11.9% positive net present value (NPV) $681,164. has simple payback period 11.4 years. greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction 670.9 tCO , equivalent 61.7 ha forest-absorbing carbon emissions.
